Yuki is the sort of dog who knows what he likes. He is often described as a bit of a grumpy old man in a younger body, independent, clever, full of personality, and happiest when life feels calm, predictable and low pressure.
His family love him deeply, and making the decision to find a new home for him has not been easy. They have worked hard to help him feel secure, including over a year with a dog trainer, and have learnt that what Yuki needs most is peace, space and the right environment to truly relax.
Clever, Clean & Easy To Live With

Excellent in the house
Yuki is crate trained, has never had an accident indoors, and can be left home without chewing or causing damage.
Loves training
He has had a dog trainer for over a year and really enjoys mental stimulation. Training sessions are where he seems happiest.
Not dog reactive
Yuki is not reactive to other dogs, though he can be awkward saying hello and his barking can sometimes worry them.
Happy to relax
One good walk or run a day suits him well, and after that he is happy to lounge, nap and enjoy a quieter life.

Yuki can be wary when meeting new people and needs time to settle. He also barks if allowed to sit at windows or patrol the garden listening for sounds beyond the fence, which is why his crate has been such a useful management tool when he is left alone.
He does not enjoy being pressured or told off, and there have been a few occasions where he has snapped when asked to do something he did not want to do. His family have worked through a lot with him, but with a young child in the home they feel the kindest and safest choice is to find him a more suitable environment.
